I’m Ellen. A marketing and communications professional, originally from New York City and currently living and working in coastal North Carolina by way of Washington, D.C. Mostly recently I oversaw website development, content management and audience growth and engagement for a nonprofit digital newsroom. I've served as director for a professional membership association for specialty physicians, communications manager for the economic development authority for one of Virginia's largest jurisdictions, marketed the professional subscription series for the performing arts at one of Virginia's largest public universities and was a publicist at two major hardcover publishing houses in New York City. I have a B.A. in communications, and I've completed graduate courses in communications and nonprofit management. I'm also a member of the Editorial Freelance Association. 

In my spare time I'm an avid reader of memoir, nonfiction and British police procedurals. I enjoy spending time and traveling with my husband, Bill, and our family and friends. I'm a struggling crocheter and unapologetically dog obsessive.
